Moving Some Cheese

"If you do not change, you can become extinct" Spencer Johnson

Remember the popular book 'Who Moved my Cheese?' by Spencer Johnson? It is the story of four characters living in a "Maze" who face unexpected change when they discover their "Cheese" has disappeared. Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw, each adapt to change in their "Maze" differently. The story goes on to highlight that we all face change very differently...some may even not face it all and become extinct! Yikes, that's no way to live proactively!

There are a few things in life that you can always count on and one of them is "Change" is a constant in our lives. Change is good when you are able to view it as a step moving forward.

Well, this past week at Creating Your Masterpiece, we've been moving a lot of cheese and handling a lot of change!

For starters, we have expanded our office base into the Tampa Bay market area! This is a great opportunity for us to spread our coaching message into a new market and to build great relationships within the community! But, it also means that we physically MOVED into Tampa Bay.

In addition, Leah moved this past week into a new home in Tampa, and got to experience firsthand all the joy and challenges that come with moving. It was a great opportunity to reflect on the past ten years spent in Orlando as well as look forward to what the next chapter in Tampa will bring.

As I am sure many of you can relate to, the packing and unpacking process in any move is very tedious and time consuming, but it gave Leah an opportunity to look at each item she owned and make the decision of whether or not it would make the move. Some items that didn't make the move were either donated or given away. See, change is good - others are benefiting from Leah's ability to adapt to change.

In our lives as we grow and evolve and move forward in life, there are some things that we don't take with us as we travel to the next level of our lives. These things could be relationships, habits, or even physical items. And that is OK. As we let go of certain items from our past we are able to accept new opportunities and relationships in our future.

It is all about change, and how we chose to adapt to it. We can fear change or we can embrace change! Either way, change will happen to us. We can't control that aspect of our lives.

So, we challenge you to embrace change in your life and realize that it is all part of the journey we are on. If things always stayed the same, we wouldn't have the chance to grow and evolve into who we were meant to be!

Make Today a Masterpiece!
Jen and Leah
