Are you using YOUR Internal Guiding System?

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
-Albert Einstein

Friday, April 9, 2010, late afternoon Winter Springs, Fl. Police Department is notified that an 11 yr old slightly autistic girl is missing in a large, thick, marshy swamp behind a local neighborhood. It's an "all hands on deck" call out for everyone to help find her. Police, fire rescue, FDLE, volunteers, family, friends, church members, strangers and the media are ALL on the case. All the latest in search and rescue tactics, GPS technology and 100's of man hours go into locating the missing girl.

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. 8:30am.
Day Four of the search begins and the girl has still has not been found. At 9:30am a call comes into Winter Springs, FL police department from a father of five, "I found Nadia". It only took this man a few hours to locate Nadia; there were no search teams, just one man, armed with a backpack, prayer and incredible faith and trust in his personal "GPS" system -and the girl is found! Nadia Bloom is found - alive and safe, covered in bug bites and little dehydrated, but she is alive!

How did this man know where to look? He followed his instincts! This remarkable story got us thinking about what type of GPS system you are using in your life. How do you *know* where you are going ? Do you have a direction? An internal guide?

All of us come equipped at birth with our own guiding system; it is often referred to as a "gut feeling" or "intuition". But most people do not tap into this valuable system when they are making decisions in their lives. We have become so conditioned to let our *logical* mind make the decisions for us that we often disregard that internal guiding system. After all, how can you go against logic? We've been programmed to make our decisions like we solve a mathematical equation...if it doesn't add up - or can't be defined in simple black and white, we have a hard time justifying the decision! Is this the right way to make decisions in your life?

Think about all the "miracles" or unbelievable stories you have heard or read about that involved people stepping away from the *logical choice* and following their gut instinct or intuition. Aren't these typically the stories that make the headlines and have the major positive outcomes and impacts? These are the life defining moments.

So, we ask you: are you making YOUR life decisions strictly on logic and ignoring what your gut feelings are telling you?

We aren't suggesting that you ignore ALL logic and make your decisions based on whichever way the wind blows, but we are suggesting that there is great value in your personal GPS system. Use it, tap into it, listen to it, and most importantly....trust it. Sometimes you will need to step outside of the comfort zone of logic and listen to that inner voice of yours to truly see where you are meant to go in life.

Remember, it took just one man who was willing to trust his *inner voice* to save the life of a lost little girl Tuesday morning in Winter Springs, FL...Imagine what can happen if you listen to yours.

Make Today a Masterpiece!
