Become the Artist of YOUR Life!

Become the Artist of YOUR Life - Create a Masterpiece!
mas'ter-piece' (noun). The most outstanding work of a creative artist or craftsman.

Are you the Artist or a Painter of your life?

To begin a painting, a painter requires a blank canvas, an assortment of bruches and a vibrant paint palette. An Artist uses these same tools; however, he combines them with passion, purpose and inspiration to create a true masterpiece.

Take a look around your home, a painter probably came in to paint the walls of each room. You called the painter up, and contracted him for the job. He came in, put some paint on the walls, and then went home waiting for the next job to come in. Mission Accomplished! If you were to decide today that you wanted to change the color of your walls, without hesitation you would call a painter (maybe not even the same one!) and he would come in and paint over the walls with a new color of paint. Do you think the original painter would be upset that you decided to paint over his work? Probably not. The painter lives life in a reactive mode. You call, he comes, does the job, and moves on to the next job.

Now, think about the Mona Lisa for a moment. She hangs in the prestigious Louvre museum in Paris. She is surrounded by a thick protective glass casing. Thousands of people stand in awe of her beauty everyday! It took Leonardo da Vinci years to create her! And he did so proactively with passion, purpose, love and inspiration! No one called him up and said: Hey Lenny, I need you to come over a paint a picture of a girl with a croocked smile!

To some critics, her smile does appears to be a bit off centered, but that is what makes her a masterpiece! She is perfect the way she is! If a painter were to call the Louvre today and offer to come in and paint over her smile to correct it, do you think the Louvre would accept the offer?? No way! The Mona Lisa is a masterpiece and was created by an Artist!

Our lives are much the same. We can either accept being a painter in our lives, and spend our time reacting to whatever comes our way. Or we can choose to be an artist and design and create our lives proactively, and create own outstanding personal masterpieces! Everyday we get to make this choice!

Which will you be? The Artist or the Painter?
