Snow in April? Let's make a snowman!

I recently returned from a week long vacation in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Aside from excellent food, wonderful shopping, relaxing mineral springs soaks, and a good dose of Wild West history, I was also fortunate enough to see SNOW! Yes, that is right! It snowed on Sunday, April 12th - Easter Sunday.

I woke up and was greeted by a beautiful blanket of white powdery snow....something we don't see much of in the Sunshine state! The ironic thing was just two days prior the temperature was a pleasant 71 degrees, and most folks were wearing shorts!

This got me thinking about how truly magnificent life's surprises can be if we embrace them! And, we always have the choice to embrace them. I overheard several people complaining about the late spring snow, about how they were *over* the cold weather and were ready for warmer temperatures, etc etc.
As for me, I was thrilled with the snow. So thrilled in fact, that I ran outside and proceeded to make a snowman!
In life, there are always surprises that will arise. We will not have control over many of these surprises, but what we do have control over is how we respond to them. We have that choice every single day of our lives.
So, next time life gives you a surprise, embrace it! Go ahead and make that snowman!
