Coaching to Success

What is coaching all about? It has become quite the buzz-word of today, but what does it REALLY mean? I thought I would take a few minutes to explain what coaching is and, more importantly, why it works!

Coaching is all about taking Action to meet YOUR goals. It is really a 5 step process....

First, you get to a point in life where you are ready for a change. You realize that you want more out of your life or you feel stuck or like you have no control over your situation and want to change. You have become aware that the old way isn't working for you, and you want more out of your life.

Second - you recognize that you have control over the situation, not someone else. This is what we call deciding to live proactively! You realize you have the power to make the change.

Third - you begin to identify HOW you want to live....what does your life look like when you have made the changes?

Fourth- Now, you develop a plan, we call this Bridging the Gap. This involves coming up with the steps it takes to meet your goals.

Finally -You now take ACTION! You know what you need to do now, you are equipped with the tools and resources to do, and you move forward with your plan.

A coach works with you during this process as a mentor, a sounding board, an advocate, and a person that will hold you accountable as you embark on your journey! Coaching works because you and your coach become a team, focusing on your goals and needs to accomplish more than you would alone. You will take action, think bigger, and get the job done due to the accountability a coach provides. Coaching focuses on the future, helping you find the best way to improve the quality of your work and life by using the skills, character and creativeness that you already possess.
